Gold is a ten minute documentary that explored the concepts of race and ‘whiteness’ in modern British society. Filmed over a week in Acton, London the film is based around a series of interviews with academics and journalists including Dr Caroline Howarth, Dr Steve Garner and Simran Hans. The central themes that these interviews explored included white privilege and the changing ideals about nationalism as Britain becomes increasingly multicultural.
My role for this project was sound mixing, recording and operating the boom mic during the interviews. It was a fascinating project to be a part of which began to explore contemporary and pressing issues.
The project was financed by a successful and outreaching Kickstarter campaign organised by Producer Olivia.
